Terms of use
What you can rely on here, and what you should confirm with a qualified professional.
These terms must be reviewed by a qualified adviser against the Australian Consumer Law before launch, and the operator details must be real.
Information, not advice
Everything here is general information about property transfer duty and conveyancing costs in Australia. It is not legal, tax or financial advice, and it does not take account of your circumstances. Decisions about a property purchase should be made with a licensed conveyancer, a solicitor or a qualified adviser.
About the figures
Rates, thresholds and deadlines are taken from the revenue office or regulator page cited beside them, on the date shown. Those sources change, sometimes mid-year. We do not warrant that a figure is current at the moment you read it, and the source link is always the authority.
About the calculator
The calculator estimates duty from published rate schedules. It does not assess your contract, does not decide your eligibility for any concession, and leaves out surcharges and concessions listed on that page. The revenue office assesses the duty actually payable.
Quote requests
We pass requests to conveyancers and property lawyers. We are not a party to any engagement you enter with them, do not supervise their work, and give no warranty about it. Any complaint about their conduct is a matter for the relevant regulator.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, and without limiting any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on information published here.
